What is God?

I want to get back to the basics of Christianity again.

What are the two greatest commandments?
Love the Lord with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength, and love your neighbor as yourself.

Love is the most important part of being a Christian, yet whenever anyone says we have to love everyone, we normally don’t pay attention. Because when we hear “love,” most of us don’t even begin to try and understand what that actually means. We think of it as an abstract concept that in reality is out of reach.

If you look up love in the dictionary, you will find over 20 different definitions. The love I’m talking about is this, “the affectionate concern for the well-being of others.” That’s all love is, it’s that simple yet everyday we just shrug off whenever our church leaders or the bible tells us to go out in the world and love others.

Another basic. Genesis 1:27 says, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him;” So we are made in God's image to live out God's purpose.

Now I ask you, what is God?

God is love.

Love is the greatest commandment and we are made to love, no more excuses. Do it.
