Tonight I really just want to get back to the basic idea of Christianity, many times we assume we understand the basics and just skim right over it to the details. As Christians, if we can keep focus on the basics everything else will fall into place.
God promises us an eternity to live in heaven, in paradise. Now I want you to compare 100 years to eternity. That’s like taking one star out of the sky, it’s not a big deal to give up one star, as long as it’s for a good reason. Now think about this, if we’re given 100 years here on earth, and promised an eternity in paradise, why wouldn’t you give 100 years out of the eternity you have to live, to save as many people as you can here on earth and take them to heaven with you? There is not one good reason.
I'm in the middle of a book called Crazy Love right now by Francis Chan and I just read a chapter about lukewarm Christians. There was one point he made that really makes you think, but you have to be completely honest with yourself.
Imagine your life if you didn't believe in God. Compare it to the life you have now. Did anything change? If not, you've got a problem.
With that in mind, get back to the basics, take in the fact that you truly have eternity in heaven, and once you've done that, start brainstorming how you could use this 100 years on earth to bring as many people as you can with ya to paradise.
